Description
Explore the highlights of Kotor during a private 1 or 1.5-hour cruise. Hop on a comfortable boat equipped with soft seat cushions and stocked with refreshing cold drinks for a scenic ride along the ancient Bay of Kotor shoreline.
Pause at the small island in the middle of the bay, home to Our Lady of the Rocks Church. According to legend, local fishermen created this artificial island stone by stone, inspired by a specific rock where shipwrecked crewmen saw the Virgin Mary. Step inside the 15th-century church to view a magnificent marble altar with an icon of Our Lady of the Rocks, painted by the renowned Balkan artist Lovro Dobric. The walls showcase Baroque paintings by well-known Kotor artist Tripo Kokolja, including notable works like The Crowning of Mary, Mary's Death, and Exaltation of the Holy Mother of God.
Afterward, return to the boat for a journey across the waters to the tranquil town of Perast. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Perast was once a favored vacation spot for Russian czars and Venetian princes. Explore the historic village adorned with 16 Baroque palaces, 17 Catholic churches, and 9 defensive towers. This insightful tour provides a quick understanding of how this stunning area became a magnet for artists, fishermen, and visitors alike.
