Built, in the period from 1938 to 1940, it was the largest reinforced concrete road bridge in Europe at the time. Throughout history, the geographical position has dictated that the world's greatest emperors, for which the Bay of Kotor was both strategically and culturally important, have ruled in this area. Influences on folk dances, songs, customs and costumes were different, depending on the regions within the Bay, activities of the population, migration, etc. The greatest influence, of course, came from the areas which bordered Boka Kotorska, such as old Montenegro, Herzegovina and Dalmatia.

The first train to Bar from Belgrade departed on May 30th, 1976, establishing official and regular traffic between two countries, which operates up to these days. 254 tunnels were built along the railway route, which is 24% of the total length of the railway, while there are 234 bridges with a total length of 14.6 kilometres, of which 206 concrete bridges and 28 steel bridges. The first passenger of the newly-opened railway was Marshal Joseph Broz Tito, together with his wife Jovanka.

Located at 4 kilometres from Podgorica lies one of the most significant archaeological sites in the present territory of Montenegro, Duklja (Doclea). There are some beliefs that the name Doclea – Diocletia – Docleatae was connected to the Roman Emperor Diocletian, who founded the city before it came under Roman rule.
The rivers of Montenegro are characteristic by their clear and unpolluted waters. Another characteristic is the large volume of water resulting from the high precipitation. This makes them preferable for water sports like rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, fly-fishing, etc. Most of the rivers in Montenegro form breath-taking canyons, thanks to the geographic position of the country.

On an early morning at 7:19 am, on April 15th 1979, with a destructive magnitude of 7 degrees of Richter scale (9 degrees Mercalli scale), the earthquake shook the whole Montenegrin coastal area, taking 101 lives in Montenegro, and 35 lives in the neighbour Albania. The epicentre was in the Adriatic Sea, between Ulcinj and Bar, and several towns were destroyed, namely Ulcinj, Bar, Petrovac, Budva, Tivat, Kotor, Risan, and Herceg Novi, as well as 250 villages.
Out of the 222 buildings built during the Ottoman period in the territory of Montenegro, today 95 of them are preserved. The documents of the Ottoman archive mostly mention mosques; of the 107 mosques, today 47 of them are still present. The origins of the Ottoman Empire still exist in Bijelo Polje (former Akova), Bar, Berane, Herceg Novi, Nikšić, Plav, Podgorica, Pljevlja (former Tašlidža), Prijepolje, Ulcinj, Tuzi, and Žabljak.

The fashion collection was inspired by the Montenegrin cultural heritage, precisely by Bihorski Cilim (a rug from the place called Bihor). People in Montenegro are using the Julian calendar, and according to this calendar Christmas celebrations start in January (7th, 8th and 9th of January), unlike the Georgian calendar when Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December. Actually, the followers of the Eastern Orthodox Church are those who recognise the 7th of January as the date of birth of Jesus Christ, while Western Christians officially celebrate December 25th as the birth of Jesus.
Last Friday, December 14th, was reserved for the first fundraising ball in Porto Montenegro organised by the Hotel Regent. It was our pleasure that we participated in this amazing event and took place in the donation collected for the General Hospital of Kotor, that is a regional health centre for the entire Bay of Kotor. The ball was a great success as we collected 15.665 € for purchasing the necessary equipment for the hospital.

Bay of Kotor in Montenegro is one of the Mediterranean pieces that still has many monuments dating back from the ancient times. The most valuable remains from Roman times are mosaics in Risan that are considered to be the rarest monuments of culture of its kind, in Europe.
