Description
Discover Karuč, a historic fisherman village nestled in forests of wild pomegranate trees that bloom orange flowers and bear fruit in autumn. On the way back, cruise through pristine river channels resembling an Amazon riverine landscape, full of dense canopies and vibrant wildlife.
The tour starts in Virpazar, where an English-speaking guide will accompany you to the river channel. An experienced local captain will then take you on a speed boat designed to navigate shallow waters and hidden channels.
During the tour, enjoy views of the open lake framed by mountains separating it from the Adriatic Sea, and catch sight of the 18th-century fortress of Lessendro surrounded by water chestnut fields. Navigate the Morča River channel to the bird reserve for birdwatching opportunities in their natural habitat.
Pass isolated islands and endless water lily fields before reaching the village of Karuč near the clear water source called Karučko oko. Stop to explore the village and climb a panoramic viewpoint for photo opportunities.
Return via the narrow channels known as Amazon, admiring the interplay of light, wild vegetation, and wildlife sounds. The boat is specially adapted for these shallow waterways to offer access to the most beautiful, lesser-known areas.
