Description
The Tara River canyon attracts visitors worldwide due to its exceptional natural beauty. You will navigate approximately 12km of the river, passing under the 170-meter-high Tara Bridge and witnessing clear, drinkable water from one of Europe’s last unpolluted rivers.
The Tara River, also called 'The Tear of Europe,' flows through the second deepest canyon globally, displaying vibrant blue and emerald green waters. It mostly runs through Durmitor National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
You will also see the Ljutica River, a powerful left tributary known as the Angry River, which is Europe’s shortest (130 meters) yet most forceful river, with a flow of 1000 liters per second. During the tour, two stops allow for photo opportunities by the Ljutica River and swimming in the clear, cold river, featuring a rock perfect for jumping.
The tour ends with transport back to the starting point to change clothes. For those seeking more adventure, an optional zip line over the canyon is available before returning to your hotel in Žabljak.
