Bijela is one of the unavoidable holiday destinations in Montenegro. It is located at the gate of the Herceg Novi Riviera. In the past, it was a village of fishermen, winegrowers, olive growers and sailors and is recognisable by its tradition of shipbuilding, which dates back to the time of King Tvrtko, the founder of Herceg Novi.
Bijela has many beaches, which are small, clean, and sandy. The church of the Most Holy Mother of God from the 14th century stands out from the historical sights, with its rich frescoes. This is one of the rarely architecturally complex churches in Montenegro.
