Giving for Good Month at Regent Porto Montenegro

Charity Inspiration
September was no ordinary month at Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel; it was a month dedicated to giving back to the community, philanthropy, and volunteering as part of the 'Giving for Good Month' initiative by the IHG hotel group, to which this hotel belongs.

As part of this initiative, Regent Hotel organised a Fundraising Food Market that took place in the Summer Garden area, in front of the main hotel entrance, on Wednesday, September 13, from 5 PM to 8 PM.

The excellent collaboration between the Regent Hotel, the Red Cross of Tivat and the Social Welfare Center of Tivat made this year's initiative particularly significant. All funds raised from that event were donated to purchase footwear and sports equipment for children from socially vulnerable categories, ensuring that they received essential supplies for the new school year and sports activities.

In particular,  the Tivat Red Cross received 26 vouchers worth 100 EUR, which were awarded for the purchase of sports equipment in Intersport stores. A total of EUR 2,150 was collected, while the partner of the action, the company Intersport Crna Gora d.o.o., provided an additional donation worth EUR 450.

'The employees of Regent Hotel are selflessly dedicated to the local community, and we always look for new ways to show that. This September, we organised numerous actions to improve the quality of life. The Food Donor Fair was an opportunity for us to come together and help those in need. I invited everyone who was in Tivat on that Wednesday to visit our food fair and contribute to this goal,' - emphasised Žana Zeković, Director of Human Resources at Regent Porto Montenegro.

The event was accompanied by a musical program featuring the sounds of the local band Milky Wave and Marko Đurišić.

Giving for Good Month also included many other activities by Regent Hotel employees. On Tuesday, September 12, hotel volunteers visited the Grabovac Home for the Elderly in Risan, drawing attention to the need for better social inclusion of the elderly population. On that occasion, hotel volunteers spent time conversing and socialising with the residents and presented symbolic gifts in the form of board games, bedding, and food donations.

Next, but not less important, was International Coastal Cleanup Day, marked on September 16 with a cleanup of the city beach in Tivat. Additionally, Regent Hotel recognised the importance of educating high school and university students in the hospitality and tourism fields. Therefore, every Friday in September, they organise visits to educational institutions in these areas, during which experts from Regent Hotel shared practical knowledge and advice with future hospitality and hotel industry professionals.

In line with the goals of its corporate social responsibility strategy, Regent Porto Montenegro remained committed to supporting and enhancing the local community through various initiatives that its employees always enthusiastically embraced.
