MyTurn, a digital tool developed in Montenegro that helps families organise household chores more simply and engagingly, was recognised among the winners at the European Young Innovators Festival, held in late November in Graz, Austria.

The festival brought together Europe’s most promising youth innovation projects, and this year MyTurn was selected as one of 15 winners of the WSA European Young Innovator Award, making it only the second Montenegrin project in the past eight years to receive this prestigious recognition.

The World Summit Awards (WSA) are among Europe’s and the world’s most significant honours for digital innovations created by young people that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and drive positive social change.

MyTurn was founded by Ivana Gazivoda, Milica Matović, and Petar Jovanović, and the idea was born during the European Innovation Academy in Portugal. The project has since been developed with the support of psychologists, educators, and more than 150 families who participated in testing and refining the app.

The application was recognised for promoting healthier family habits and encouraging a more balanced division of household responsibilities, setting it apart from more than a hundred submissions from across Europe. The international jury, composed of 11 experts in technology, education, and social impact, especially highlighted the app’s role in empowering children and improving family communication.
 
The app works by allowing children to earn points through play as they complete tasks at home, while parents can track progress and plan responsibilities more easily. MyTurn is completely free to use and available on Google Play and the App Store.
