This filming location has been part of many debates over whether the famous scene in which Daniel Craig, who revived the role of Bond's secret agent, plays poker in a casino, was filmed in Montenegro or not. When the film was shot in 2006, Montenegro did not have the financial resources to follow-up the shooting of the scene of this high-budget film. As confirmed by director Martin Campbell, the scene was not filmed in Montenegro but was eventually filmed in the Czech Republic. Still, the movie mentions the location of Montenegro and Hotel Splendid where several scenes take place. This fact, however, hasn’t stopped fans and visitors to still travel to Montenegro, and visit the place where even virtually James Bond has been.
