Wine and rakija, essential parts of gatherings and cherished traditions, inspired this festival. It is both an ode to local hosts and wineries and an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to experience these traditions, learn something new, and celebrate Montenegro’s cultural heritage together, organisers explained.
Markets & Workshops Inspired by Tradition
On Saturday, September 20, the program begins with a matinee at the Feel Alive Hub from 11:00 am –2:00 pm, featuring live guitar music and a mini bazaar. The artistic touch of the festival comes from the workshop 'Monteroots & Vines' (11:00 am –1:00 pm), led by artist Dijana Lazović, inspired by grapevines and Mediterranean vegetation as timeless symbols of abundance and beauty.
The festival bazaar, offering a wide range of wines, rakija, and local crafts, will be open on both weekend days on Piazza Centrale from 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Saturday afternoon includes face painting for children at 5:00 pm, followed by DJ Pavle Aleksić setting the rhythm for the evening. On Sunday, the bazaar continues with a children’s creative workshop on balloon animal making at 5:00 pm, and a live performance by the band Milky Wave.
Themed Dinners
Highlights include the masterclass 'Montenegrin Wine Stories – Tasting and Journey Through Oenology' held at The Spot restaurant of The Chedi Hotel on Friday, September 19, at 7:00 pm. Guests will be introduced to Montenegro’s wine regions, sub-regions, wineries, and grape varieties, accompanied by guided tastings of premium wines and rakija. The evening concludes with an engaging discussion and an invitation to further explore local wineries.Another special event is the Table of Togetherness, inspired by monastic feasts and the tradition of communal dining. It will take place at The Centrale Hotel on Saturday, September 20, at 7:00 pm, featuring Montenegrin specialities paired with local wines and rakija.
