Lake Piva is an artificial lake located in Municipality Pluzine, on the north-west part of Montenegro. The Lake was built in 1975., by partitioning of Piva Kanyon in order to build a Dam Mratinje. Since then, the Lake represents the biggest electro-energetic potential in the country. On the bottom of the lake, the old town Pluzine is located. Also, there used to be a famous monastery Piva, which is relocated 8km from there. Now you can find a small but very charming town Pluzine on its shores. Except that the Piva lake is very useful, you would be thrilled to know how beautiful it is. The deep green colour of the lake, surrounded by thick forests, make the whole place look magical. In summer times, people go swimming in it or go on cruising on the lake, catching the chance to enjoy amazing sights, and see untouched nature and beautiful caves from the lake. Besides, water in the lake is drinkable, and it is considered for the cleanest lake water in the Balkans. And if you know that Piva is full of fishes and the fishing is allowed, you will be happy to catch and make it for lunch, or simply do it for fun - catch and release.
