Next to Morinj is the village called Kostanjica, located in a green oasis of chestnuts, after which it got its name (kostanj or kesten meaning chestnut). Kostanjica is a famous settlement of sailors and fishermen, also characterised by the richness of bay leaf, which the locals have been collecting for centuries and producing essential oils from it. It is a quiet village located near the entrance of Risan Bay.
