Description

Embark on a private three-day canoe expedition through the Tara Canyon, the deepest canyon in Europe. Begin with a scenic drive across Durmitor National Park to the starting point of the expedition. Paddle through the canyon, discovering its natural beauty and famous sites like Bajlovica Sige, hidden waterfalls, caves, and tributaries. On the first day, enjoy a calm and easy paddle, focused on discovering the natural beauty of the canyon. Along the way, stop at natural landmarks such as the Djurdjevica Tara Bridge, the shortest river in the world — Ljutica, the White and Black Springs, Laz’s Rock, and many others. In the evening, stay at the traditional Dzabasan household in the village of Tepci, where you can experience authentic Montenegrin village life, meet farm animals, and enjoy homemade food prepared straight from the garden. On the second day, paddle deeper into the canyon, exploring famous sites such as Bajlovica Sige, as well as numerous hidden waterfalls, caves, and tributaries. Here the Tara reaches its maximum depth of nearly 1,400 meters, a place of legends and stories passed down for generations. The evening brings you to the camp at Brštanovica, where a warm dinner and riverside atmosphere await. On the third day, paddle the thrilling Brštanovica–Bastasi section, known for its 20 kilometers of rapids and splashing waves. After this final descent, the expedition ends back at the base camp with a well-deserved lunch on the riverbank.

Important Information

• The first two days are easy paddling, ideal for beginners. The final day includes rapids and is more challenging. Participants should be in good health and able to swim.
