Description
Day 1: Tirana → Shkodër
Begin your adventure in Tirana, where you’ll be picked up at 9:00 AM. After a 2-hour drive, reach the lakeside village of Shirokë. Enjoy a traditional lunch followed by a short village tour.
In the afternoon, return to Shkodër to visit the Venetian Mask Factory and the Marubi Museum. As the sun sets, head to Rozafa Castle to experience its legendary history and panoramic views.
Day 2: Shkodër → Tamara → Lepushë
Depart Shkodër at 9:00 AM and begin your scenic drive through the mountains. Stop at several viewpoints for photos, then enjoy lunch in Tamara, a picturesque village along the river.
Continue driving through the winding roads, gradually climbing toward the highlands until you reach Lepushë, one of the most beautiful villages in northern Albania. Settle into a family-run guesthouse.
Day 3: Hike: Vajusha Peak → Gerbajë (Montenegro) → Vusanje
Start early at 7:30 AM to avoid the midday sun. The ascent to Vajusha Peak is exposed in the first section, but the reward is incredible—sweeping views of the Albanian Alps from the summit.
Hike toward Gerbajë, enjoying a picnic lunch. After arriving in the valley, relax with a well-deserved drink. A vehicle meets you in Gerbajë and transfers you to Vusanje, where you’ll check into your guesthouse for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Vusanje → Peja Pass → Theth (Longest Hike of the Trip)
Take on the longest hike of the tour—approximately 20 km, crossing the Albanian–Montenegrin Alps. The first part of the trail is mostly flat and easy, with the only challenging section being the downhill into Theth.
Stop for a picnic lunch on the way and enjoy the dramatic landscapes. Upon arrival in Theth, settle into your guesthouse for the next 2 nights, with meals included.
Day 5: Exploring Theth: Waterfalls, Canyons & Blue Eye
Enjoy a relaxing but adventure-filled day dedicated to exploring the natural wonders of Theth National Park, including Grunas Waterfall, Theth Canyon, and the Blue Eye of Kaprre.
Day 6: Theth → Valbona Pass → Valbona Valley
After breakfast, begin Theth–Valbona hike, one of the most famous routes in the Albanian Alps. This is a 6-hour hike from the trailhead, crossing the beautiful Valbona Pass before descending into the wide, glacier-shaped Valbona Valley. Upon arrival, check into your guesthouse for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: Valbona → Komani Lake → Fishtë
Depart at 10:00 AM for a 1-hour drive to Fierza, where you’ll board the scenic Komani Lake ferry—one of the most breathtaking boat journeys in the Balkans. Upon arrival in Koman, continue to Fishtë, the birthplace of Albania’s farm-to-table movement. Enjoy an unforgettable dinner at Mrizi i Zanave Agrotourism and stay overnight in a nearby family guesthouse.
Day 8: Farewell → Transfer to Tirana or Airport
After breakfast in Fishtë, drive back to Tirana or Tirana Airport, depending on your schedule. This marks the end of your unforgettable Albania & Montenegro mountain adventure.
