The experience begins at the Sea Gate, Kotor’s Old Town entrance. The guide provides a brief introduction before the first tasting at Kotor’s historic Open Market. Sample local prosciutto, cheeses (cow, goat, and sheep), homemade fig or berry jam, and sweet Montenegrin wine. These flavors offer an introduction to the region’s culinary traditions.
Next, explore Kotor’s stone streets, stopping at landmarks like Saint Tryphon’s Cathedral. The guide shares stories highlighting this famous building.
The route continues past the Square of the Museum, the old Karampana fountain, and Saint Luke’s Square. Visit a specialty shop to sample local olive oil, olive pâté, and honey brandy while learning about their production and use in local households.
Admire Romanesque and Byzantine churches and exit briefly through the North Gate. At the main square, The Square of Arms, hear stories about the Clock Tower and a former Napoleon’s theatre.
