Description

Mount Maglić, at 2386 meters, is the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina and part of the Dinaric Alps, located on the border with Montenegro. The area’s Trnovačko Lake and surrounding wilderness require dedicated time to explore fully.

The trip starts early from Sarajevo, with a coffee break in Brod na Drini. After 30 minutes, the group enters Sutjeska National Park, stopping at Dragoš Sedlo for views of Perućica Forest and Skakavac Waterfall. The hike begins at Prijevor, where participants collect climbing gear, water, and meals. Support staff transport and set up camping equipment and tents at the lake.

After 3.5 hours of hiking, the group reaches the Maglić summit for a meal and photos before descending toward Trnovačko Lake. The path is steep and partly gravel-covered. After approximately 3 hours, the group arrives at the lake for swimming, dinner, and campfire socializing.

On day two, participants enjoy coffee, tea, and mountain breakfast before relaxing and swimming at the lake. The camp is then packed, and the group hikes back to Prijevor to catch the sunset. The trip concludes with a return to Sarajevo.
