Zminje Lake

Durmitor National Park, Montenegro

Zminje Lake is one of the many lakes in the Durmitor region, so-called forest’s eyes, because of its small surface and deep waters that remind of an eye when you see it from the distance.

Zminje Lake is located on the very source of Mlinski Potok, in the Durmitor National Park territory. It is located at an altitude of over 1500 m and it’s approximately 7-8 m deep. It’s a perfect location for a day trip, although you need to be fit to hike to this altitude through the forest. The path is well marked and you can take your children on this trip too, as it’s not highly demanding. This beautiful nature jewel is surrounded by the evergreen forest, overlooking the steep Crvena Greda cliff. A real place for enjoyment in the natural environment.
