Museums and Galleries
Money Museum was opened in 2012, as the project of the Central Bank of Montenegro, aimed at preserving the historical and cultural heritage in the field of numismatic values in Montenegro.
In the Museum, visitors have the opportunity to see an exhibition entitled 'From Peper to Euro” which contains valuable and rare specimens of denominations from several periods of Montenegrin history. You can also see stock exchanges, checks and vouchers from the period of the Kingdom of Montenegro, and dinars from the time of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
Among the museum units, the coin minting machine from 1849 stands out, as the machine on which the first Montenegrin coin perper was minted. In addition to the basic museum exhibit, the Central Bank of Montenegro organises also educational programs in the Museum of Money: creative workshops, lectures, discussions and seminars on the history of money, central banking and finance for the general public, primarily for primary and secondary school students.
The ticket price is 2 euros, while the admission is free for children, pupils, students, and pensioners.
