Cesarica

Montenegro

At a glance

Cesarica is in the Old Town just on the corner where the Orthodox Church is located. Despite being a little tricky to find, hidden in a street behind the Pub Dock and Scorpian Bar, it is well worth it to get a chance to indulge in their lovely fish menu. The fishing history of the area is clear to see: the walls are covered in photographs and memorabilia of the family. This all adds to the rustic charm of the place. Although the small restaurant it is somewhat undiscovered it can be popular during peak times.

Forget the usual charge of bland international Italian imitations; Cesarica prides itself on breaking from the crowd and getting local fish to your table. The seafood menu available features items such as the fish chowder soup and a black squid ink risotto, filled with tender pieces of squid. As well as fillets of sea bass and the usual deep fried calamari, everything here is cooked to a high standard.

The menu is short and sweet, and this delicious cuisine is not to be missed as it epitomises the taste, smells and excitement of discovering fresh seafood. Compared to the blandness of many mainstream restaurants this is a diamond in the rough.
