Description
After meeting in Kotor, the tour heads along the coastal road toward Donji Stoliv, passing stone houses, fishing docks, and traditional konoba restaurants that reflect the maritime culture of the bay.
The route continues uphill toward Gornji Stoliv via a quiet mountain road through an ancient chestnut forest. The paved road turns to gravel, providing a light off-road experience on a private route used only by locals and Jeeps.
At Gornji Stoliv, explore the medieval stone village on foot. Your guide explains seasonal mountain-coast family movements along narrow 14th-century paths that pass abandoned houses, olive groves, and terraced gardens, all with panoramic views over the bay. A highlight is the Church of St. Elijah, a 13th-century stone church with a tall bell tower and exclusive access for guests to visit inside.
The next stop is a shaded terrace in the chestnut forest overlooking the bay, where you will taste traditional local foods including homemade prosciutto, cheese, olives, fresh bread, and seasonal natural juices such as pomegranate or rose petal syrup.
On the descent, the tour visits Verige, the narrowest point of the Bay of Kotor, for views and photos of Perast and the islands Our Lady of the Rocks and St. George. Continuing around the bay to Tivat, the route climbs to Trojica for a final panorama over the Kotor basin with an optional stop at a local souvenir shop.
