Description
Kotor is located in the most secluded part of Boka Kotorska (The Bay of Kotor). Originating from the Illyrian period, it later became a significant commercial and artistic center in the Middle Ages. The city has changed hands numerous times, from the Byzantine Empire to medieval Serbia, Venetian and Hungarian states, France, Austria, and finally becoming part of Yugoslavia.
The tour starts at the Old Town’s main entrance, the Sea Gate, where you will meet your guide who will have an identification mark. You will visit key inner city squares and streets including Weapons Square, Flour Square, St. Blessed Ozana of Kotorska Square, and the Cathedral Square. Along narrow streets and historic gates such as the Skurda River Gate and Gurdic River Gate, you will explore the longest street within the old town and finish with a walk through the city’s Citadel, with opportunities for photo breaks.
