Description
After hotel pickup in Dubrovnik, drive through northern Montenegro and enter Albania, stopping first in Shkodra for sightseeing. Along the route, see 20th-century bunkers designed by communist leader Enver Hoxha. Shkodra, located on a large lake of the same name, is one of Albania’s oldest and most historically significant cities. The city displays a blend of Eastern and Western architecture from various periods. Visit Castle Rozafa on a nearby mountainside for panoramic city views.
Next, visit the small fortress town of Krujë, a symbol of Albanian cultural heritage. Explore Krujë Castle, historically significant for resisting the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. After touring the old town, enjoy lunch in a traditional Albanian restaurant.
Arrive at your hotel in Tirana and take an hour-long evening walking tour of the city center to experience the capital’s atmosphere.
