Begin your trek at Momcilov Grad, a historic site where local legend says Vojvoda Momčilo once observed the Durmitor and Pirlitor mountains. From there, follow a scenic trail through a pristine forest reserve filled with ancient spruces and firs.
Continue to a green flowering field that offers extensive views of Durmitor’s peaks, including Crvena Greda rising above Jablan Lake, a glacial lake dating back to the Ice Age, named after the yellow “Jablan” flower around its shores.
Proceed to Razanj Gully, where you can view Black Lake (Crno Jezero) and surrounding peaks. The trail gently descends through forest filled with birdsong, enhancing your immersion in nature.
Your route then leads to Bosaca, the highest inhabited village on the Balkans, known for its scenic pastures and centuries-old houses. After passing dense cypress forests, you arrive at the clear waters of Black Lake, Montenegro’s well-known glacial lake.
