Description

Your tour begins with hotel pickup followed by a scenic drive along the highway near the railway through Morača Canyon. Admire towering cliffs and deep gorges as you approach Biogradska Gora National Park on the slopes of Bjelasica Mountain.

Within the park, walk along forest trails and wooden paths surrounding pristine Biogradsko Lake, home to one of Europe’s last primeval rainforests. Encounter ancient trees with massive trunks, listen to flowing streams and birdsong, and hear stories about the mountain and lake from local guides. Wildlife such as deer, foxes, squirrels, and rabbits may be spotted in their natural habitat.

Afterwards, stop for a coffee break and continue to Kolašin. This mountain town developed during the Ottoman period as a frontier settlement and now offers a mix of historical sites and alpine ambiance. The area is known for clean spring water, fertile land, and traditional foods including layered Kolašin cheese, kačamak, and cicvara.

The region also produces high-quality potatoes, wild forest fruits like blueberries and raspberries, and mountain honey, shaped by the pure mountain air and environment.

An optional cable car ride at Kolašin 1600 Ski Center is available. Ascend from 1600 meters to above 2000 meters for wide views of Bjelasica peaks, green pastures, shepherd huts (katuns), and occasionally wild horses.
