Ostrog Monastery is a miraculous work of art built by nature and human interaction. It is carved almost entirely into a vertically positioned mountain cliff. Today, the monastery is the pearl of Montenegrin spirituality which is visited by more than 100,000 pilgrims from around the world in addition to many tourists and locals from all religions every year. Ostrog Monastery is one of the most visited Christian destinations on Earth with its cave-like chapel and the Monastery complex that preserves the sanctity of Saint Basil, the Orthodox Christian Saint of Miracles. This breathtaking destination will fill your soul and is situated in such an awe-inspiring place that a visit will fill you with heightened feelings of devotion and reverence to God.

Ostrog Monastery is situated on the edge of the rich Bjelopavlic plain, carved high up in the cliffs, but offers easy access to its visitors. It is located approximately 50 kilometres from the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, and about 15 kilometres from the second largest town in Montenegro, Niksic. Both towns have direct roads connecting to Ostrog which enables quick and simple access to the monastery.
