Description
On our full-day excursion to Montenegro we leave Dubrovnik early in the morning and drive to the rafting camp that’s situated on the banks of the River Tara. We’ll have a breakfast of local Montenegrin dishes when we arrive. Breakfast will be followed by a short instructional program in river rafting and then we’ll be transported by jeep to the point where our rafting adventure begins! The River Tara runs through Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and forms the border between the countries in several places. The Tara River Gorge, which is the longest canyon in Europe and second in the world to the Grand Canyon, is 78 kilometers in length and 1,300 meters high at its tallest point. It is part of Durmitor National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Shortly after we begin rafting, we pass through the most attractive part of the canyon. We’ll see waterfalls and wild springs along the way and make stops for photos and swimming. After rafting down 25 kilometers of the River Tara, we’ll arrive at the rafting center, where you’ll have time for a warm shower and lunch. You’ll be treated to local specialties as you enjoy lunch overlooking the river. When we’ve finished lunch we’ll head back to Dubrovnik, arriving in the late afternoon.Includes
