Description
Embark on a journey to the past with Montenegro's first fully interactive museum project, a collaboration between the Monastery Complex of St. Nicholas and Medieval Kotor. This unique endeavour offers guests an unparalleled opportunity to experience life as it was in the old days through immersive and hands-on encounters. As you enter the interactive museum, you will be transported to a different era. The exhibits within the museum showcase the region's vibrant cultural history, highlighting the architecture, art, and everyday life of the town. Situated in the coastal town of Prčanj, within a beautifully preserved 18th-century monastery complex, this unique venue offers an extraordinary ambience that is truly one-of-a-kind. During our guided tour, you will explore Prčanj, delving into its fascinating history, as well as the history of the monastery itself. However, the main highlight lies in experiencing the customs of the past firsthand. Accompanied by an authentically dressed guide, you will have the opportunity to try various medieval skills, such as archery, fencing with replicas of ancient swords, traditional printing methods, rope-making techniques specific to the Boka Bay area, grinding wheat, and even minting your own coins and prints. While in Prčanj, we will make two short stops that add to the enchantment of the tour. One stop will introduce you to the captivating story of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one of the most beautiful and significant sacred buildings on the Adriatic. This Renaissance-Baroque masterpiece, designed by the Venetian architect Berdinando Macaruzzi, took 124 years to complete and continues to leave a lasting impression on visitors. The other stop will bring you to the 'Three Sisters' Palace, also known as 'Tre Sorelle.' This well-preserved 15th-century suburban villa is associated with the legendary tale of three sisters, all in love with the same sea captain. Though more of a true story than a mere legend, our guide will regale you with intriguing details surrounding this captivating tale. By the end of the tour, you will gain a newfound appreciation for the cultural heritage of Prčanj, a town with a history intimately intertwined with the sea. The interactive museum in Prcanj, the Monastery complex, and Tre Sorelle offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and are essential destinations for anyone interested in the history and culture of Montenegro.Includes
