Bedem Fest

Bedem Fest, this year for the 7th time, will be held on the fortress in the centre of the town of Niksic, by which the festival has got its name!

The concept of the festival on the beginning was a type of the event where various bands played as a tribute to a great EKV rock band - one of the most famous in ex Yugoslavia. Niksic is well known as the town of rock 'n roll, so this was the logical beginning.

Further on, great enthusiast and founder of the festival, Mr Petar Sundic, had percieved that the festival could be extended and more and more names came to the Niksic fortress called Bedem.

This is a city festival, not very big, but with the soul. Every single person from Niksic adore it and they see it as their own festival, which presents their town the best!

Last couple of years, organisers are putting effort in promoting this festival regionally and they tend to have guests not only from Montenegro, but also from the wider region. A lot of regionally famous bands and singers will perform on this great event, which will be the crown on this summer, in the city of Niksic. Beside stars, Bedem is the only festival promoting demo festivals and bringing their winning bends to the Bedem main stage!

7th edition of Bedem will brake all the rules and this year will bring Kids Choir from the Music School 'Dara Cokorilo' from the hometown of Bedem Fest - Niksic. Those kids are experienced performers, who had several solo evening concerts, with their great teacher as the conductor, Ms Milena Popovic. This will probably be the most touching moment of the festival.

Every year, the festival has its slogan! This year's one is BELIEVE! Because Niksic believes there is still goodness in the world!

For the ones not from Niksic, the organisers have prepared the space for camping, so you can bring your tents and enjoy with your friends! Camp is free of charge!

Beside all the interesting music happenings, this festival has a deeper story in behind. It has humanitarian aspect, where the organiser tries to help the environment in being more aware of how they can improve their lives. This year Bedem Fest will focus on persons with disabilities and the cooperation with the Paraolympic Association of Montenegro has been established. On the first evening, on the opening ceremony, Montenegrin paraolympic team will be presented and all the audience is invited to support them in Rio de Janeiro. Maybe great Bedem vibes will bring some medals too! :)
